Protect Videos with DRM

The Video Service protects videos with Axinom DRM. The DRM side is provided by the Mosaic DRM Service, a managed service you enable for the same environment.

Three steps, with nothing to copy between systems:

  1. Enable the DRM Service for your environment, see Enabling and Disabling Services.
  2. Switch on DRM Protection in the processing profile you encode with, see DRM Settings.
  3. Encode as usual. The Encoding Service acquires the content keys from the Key Service of your environment, authorized by the same Mosaic JWT that started the encoding job.

There is no management key to store, and no DRM secret travels with an encoding job. The Key IDs of a protected video are stored with the video, so your Entitlement Service can name them in the entitlement message that a viewer redeems for a license at the License Service of the environment.
