User Roles

Multiple users can be assigned to a tenant.

Users can have different roles in a tenant context: Business, Billing, Admin, and Technical.

Users in an Admin role can manage other users (under My Mosaic / User Administration).

Initially, your first user has all the roles for your tenant.

Each role grants certain permissions within the tenant.

A user can have multiple roles assigned. In this case, the user has the permissions of all assigned roles.

The roles are intersecting, i.e. the same permission can be gained through different roles.

A user without any role in a tenant can do and see nothing within that tenant.

Admin​

The Admin role grants access to:

  • User Administration in My Mosaic
  • Environment administration using Mosaic Admin Portal (https://admin.service.eu.axinom.net)
  • Administration / environment details of each environment

Billing​

The Billing role grants access to:

  • Viewing agreements
  • Viewing invoices
  • On environment level, viewing usage statistics summary

Business​

Similar to Billing, the Business role additionally grants access to:

  • Upgrading the tenant (i.e. sign contracts)

Technical​

If a user is assigned the Technical role, the user can be assigned to specific environments. The permissions of the Technical role apply then only to the selected environments.

Instead of giving access to individual environments, the user can be assigned to a meta-environment "All Environments", which includes all currently existing environments, but also all future environments.

On each of the assigned environments, the Technical role grants access to:

  • DRM/Encoding configuration, including:
    • Acquire/reset/remove credentials for DRM
    • Fairplay certificates add/remove (user has to know the management key)
    • Acquire credentials for Encoding
    • Upload a video for Encoding
  • Viewing usage statistics summary
  • Viewing detailed usage statistics
  • Error logs
  • Administration / environment details
